Youth Group Updates

On Thursday we organized a water gun fight in a local park for the home school group.

Here is Luke who just the moment before was squirted and shocked, I called him and said smile...and bam...cute smile!

Third is in the Pepsi shirt soaking, his friend Dori next to him soaking, and Fourth is the soaking one on the right side of the photo!

This photo requires some deep looking. One kid was on one side hiding and squirting, and two kids were on the other side. It was hilarious watching the battle ensue!

Here is Second, armed to the hilt, using some of his dads, police and rescue gear, to hold water guns, and water balloons.

This was our last park get together until the fall. We meet on Thursdays at a local park so the kids can just play and have fun. The parents use this time to visit, and uplift eachother.

On Friday we meet and have organized P.E. Bill and another mom and I are over this activity. We had some issues over location, which is why I asked for prayers, and thank you all so much. We have had many resolutions as to where to meet next year, and I know that the prayers are the reasons.

We currently meet at a church that graciously has permitted us to use their gym. Only one or two families belong to this church, the rest of us are Christians and attend various churches around town. That being said, I am going to not say anything else on the gym.

Friday was Fun Day Friday, and we had a wonderful time. We played musical chairs, and used the song Blessed Be the Name, as the song. Then we had DODGEBALL(no surprise) and then we did relays. The kids as always were well behaved and a delight. After gym day 7 boys came over to my house and 'hung out' with the boys! The group has so many friendships, I love the families and enjoy being part of something so wonderful.

Fun Day Friday

Fun Day Friday was yesterday, and of course was wonderful! It is getting warmer, but we still had a lot of fun!

The kids played relays and scatterball, and DODGEBALL. It was so fun watching some of the kids in the relays. One relay was to twirl a hula hoop on their arm as they ran to the other side of the gym and back. I loved watching, because some were twirling and trying to be 'removed' from their own arm! So delightful!

We then had the end of year Contenders and Keepers of the Faith party. Everyone brought a finger food of their choice and we had a buffet style festival.

The Keepers will not meet again until the next school year, but Bill will continue to do the Contenders. In fact on June 8,the Contenders are going for an overnight camping trip. While the boys are out, I am going to have a Hawaiian Party for all the 'girls'.

Fun Day Friday

Today was Fun Day Friday. Our home school group meets every Friday for organized P.E. My husband and I with another mom are in charge. Today was very fun! We had several new children. I love the home school kids. So today we played dodgeball, scatterball, relays and corners.

We always open with a prayer and close with a prayer. After P.E. we have Keepers at Home(which is a Christian scout group for girls) Today the mother whose turn to teach the lesson, taught crochet. The girls had so much fun.

Every Friday at 5:30 we have Contenders of the Faith at our home. Bill teaches this, and it is for the boys. Tonight we had 12 boys and they worked on manners and then wrestling! I served pizza and another mom made rice crispy treats. The boys had so much fun! I always forget to take pictures of the Contenders...which is funny, because we are at my house! The boys are such good young men. On June 8th the Contenders are going out for an overnight camp trip. Bill will be taking our 5th wheel and a few other dads are coming, but the boys are going to learn to set up tents, make a fire, and some safety measures that will protect them when on outdoor excursions.

Fourth and I are going to have an all girl party while the boys are gone. I am planning a Hawaiian theme and make some fun snacks and crafts!

Well that is the update for today! Best wishes for all.

Here Bill is explaining scatterball for the new kids.

Here the boys are playing dodgeball...against the girls!

Here are the last few girls finishing up their crocheting! Fourth is in the green shirt.
