School Update

We have been studying the Bible(every year) in our home school. Monday, my schedule was off so instead of going from my notes I told the kids for Bible to read the book of Jonah again. This time I want them to pay attention to as many details as possible.

Then on Tuesday I asked them to write a full page paper about the book. They could brainstorm in the top sentences, then they had to come up with as much detail as they could.

Jonah has just 3 chapters and 48 verses, but the kids were incredible. They *got* a verse that I think is so important, when Jonah was swallowed by the fish, he prayed.

I was impressed, because although there are 48 verses there are not that many unique things that happened. FoUrTh had 22 correct matches, Second had 18 correct matches and Third had 15 correct matches.

They loved this and asked me to do challenges like this every week. So as I know it is an incredible learning tool, we will use this every Monday!

What a great idea - I can't wait until mine are of the age to do things like this - but I need to enjoy the here and now....

Good for them! Smart mamma too to implement what ever she could and still get some good learning in the day!
