Opportunity Will Be Knocking

Friends, whether you agree or disagree or not, Halloween is a wonderful opportunity. In my vast 40 years of experience, I have learned a few things. And believe me, when someone chooses to come to your door for something that you choose to handout, it is providence.

Think about this: And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

So here are some neat things to give a child that may never have heard about precious Jesus.

YES..yes..yes...when else will someone come to YOUR door...and you have the choice of giving them something...for a couple years ..I used cheap cardstock..cut it up and stapled into into like 4-6 pages little books...wrote the wod stickers on the front..then went to the Christian bookstore..bought stickers..cut them apart..put them in the little baggie with the book...a tract...and candy...and have also had hot cider and have given cups out to the parents as ministry....carved pumpkins that say Jesus loves you..had Christian music playing...
ALSO one year my sister and I handed out stuff she had printed out on the true meaning of Halloween...she rolled them like scrolls and tied them...we went to a community center and when people elft stood on the sidewalk and put them in their bag in a NON-confrontive way....so that is my .02.....glad to see you addressing this.

We live on a one street development in the country - we only get the neighbor children - its nice to go out because of the 7 families with small children - 3 are christian and homeschooling and the others are just wonderful families!

Since we only get a small handful of children, I got several types of candy and put little bags together. Then, I typed up little God Loves You posters and cut them out into maybe a 3x5 size. I had the kids color them and then we put them in the bag.

I've often thought too, about purchasing small craft kits for the children and then giving them one little piece of candy - so they had a little 'project' like Deby's idea!

Glad to see you putting this out there, I will be interested to see what others share - I have to get my plan in order!

Jen I'm glad you linked to the tracts! What a great idea! I can purchase many neat things at a couple of Bible bookstores in our area, but for those who don't live near one, ordering on line is a great suggestion. I also appreciate the fact that you see everyday as an oppourtunity to witness. We shouldn't be *running away* from some golen opportunities that fall right at our doorsteps!

I will go post one of my *treats* now!

Handing out tracks on Halloween is a great thing to do. We have done that.
