Moving Day

After church today we are moving First to his new place. It is an apartment not too far from campus, next to the mall, and well 70 miles from home! He is very excited and I must admit I am too.

I understand that this is it, and he will be on his own from here on out, but I know that as parents that we have done all that we can, and it is his turn.

So as you go about your day, pause and take a moment and remember the day that you moved out!

I never really moved out when I went away to school because I came home every weekend. Boyfriend (now hubby) went to school about the same distance away as me, but in a different direction. Not only will I pause to remember when I moved out (when I got married) I will remember you all in prayer as you adjust to your "new normal." Best wishes to First in his new journey!

Thanks Leigh Ann, this will be an adjustment, but this is the goal as a parent, to prepare our children to leave the nest.

I appreciate the prayers and I know in my room late at night, I will shed a tear. He is my firstborn. I will miss him so much!

But school starts full time tomorrow so we will be busy to take our minds off the sadness!!

I'll pray for you too, Jennifer. I'm not sure how I'm going to be able to handle my kiddos leaving the nest. It's bad enough I'll be watching them climb on the big yellow bus next week!! But I bet you must be very proud, as you should be!! =)

I hope your first day of school tomorrow goes great!! =)

First may not have his feet under the table every day and his head on the pillow in his bed at your home but he will always be in your heart and mind no matter how old he gets!!!!! He will also ALWAYS be in your prayers:o)

I vividly remember the day I moved into my dorm room. What a surreal feeling it was. It was a hot California day, and I said good-bye to my Dad, then I was all alone in a big university campus. Yet God paved the way . . . week after week one more sweet miracle . . . a dear sweet roommate, a job, friends . . . God is so faithful to His children. I can't wait to hear what happens with First!

Kitty Thanks for the well wishes! It is slightly weird for him not to be here, and to realize that as a man he is probably off for good, is well it takes my breath away.

School went well including drivers ed for the middle 2!!

Susan You are so correct..Always in my heart soul and mind..Prayers too!!

Jackie-isn't God awesome!

Oh my Jen! I hadn't realized he was moving 70 miles away! I for some reason, thought he was still going to be in your same town. How did I forget that? Anyway, I know he will do great. He seems to have 2 wonderful parents who took their parenting very seriously and looked to God for guidance. Good for you!
